VIAF (Virtual International Authority File)

Description

VIAF (Virtual International Authority File) is an OCLC service -- built in cooperation with national libraries and other partners -- that virtually combines multiple LAM (Library Archives Museum) name authority files into a single name authority service. Available for download: "a text file showing the correspondence between source IDs in clusters, including external links such as Wikipedia"; file with "one 'native' XML record per line for each VIAF cluster"; file with "one RDF record per line for each VIAF cluster"; file with "one RDF Triple per line"; file with "one MARC-21 XML record per line for each VIAF cluster"; file with "one ISO-2709 MARC-21 record per line for each VIAF cluster"; and file showing "redirections within the VIAF dataset (in RDF)".
